A visitor that decided to spend the day in our spruce tree. He or She (not sure how to tell) nestled there most of the day, and even took some naps. 🙂
The mourning dove (Zenaida macroura) is a member of the dove family (Columbidae). The bird is also called the turtle dove or the American mourning dove or rain dove, and formerly was known as the Carolina pigeon or Carolina turtledove

These are so pretty!! Thanks for joining us in the Texture Twist!!
Nicely done! Love the creativity. I much prefer the name mourning dove over pigeon! Also, thank you so much for your kind words on my last post. I really feel like everything is such a struggle right now. You helped put things into perspective. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. xo
Doves are such gentle looking birds.
Nice bw scene although I do like the misty/foggy feel of the before shot too.
Such an interesting edit for b/w! I love the softness of the ‘before’ picture, but I also really like the starkness that the b/w brought out.
What an interesting conversion of the b/w. I love the snowy look but the intense b/w is really nice too!
I so love the mournful call of the mourning dove! Can’t wait for spring to hear them again.
Such pretty photos Peabea..
Beautiful B&W contribution!
Great shot of the dove and I like the misty softness of the before black and white. I’m visitng from both TT and black and white. My black and white post is entitled hoop and my tt post is entitled winter.
