August…Where Did You Go?

August 2015 2

  • August arrived, the incessant rain stopped, and it finally felt like Summer exploded with more humidity than normal.
  • By the time August arrived, my flower bed was more of a weed bed than flowers. I finally just pulled the weeds and not many flowers left that hadn’t been strangled by the weeds.
  • We sadly had been trying to sell our place at the lake kind of on and off since last Summer. Finally, someone wanted to buy it. With mixed emotions, we said good-bye to a past era of fun.
  • My outdoor furniture chairs were a mess, I recovered them as well as the swing canopy.
  • The grandbabykins kept me company some, but not as much as usual this Summer, but when he is here, it’s always a fun day. His mama’s work and school schedule was lighter than normal this Summer so he got to hang our more at home. I miss him, but glad he and his mom had the Summer months. Then too soon, school started back the 2nd week of August.
  • The grandbabykins had his birthday party at a gym where all the kids could zipline, walk tightrope, climb, etc. The picture is of he and his mama getting ready to climb. He loved having her climb too.
  • I miss getting out more with my camera, but did manage some pictures of the weeds. šŸ™‚
  • Still enthused with my reading through the Bible. It was Song of Solomon for August. Next will be Acts.

Sharing my collage over at Mona’s Picturesque. Make a collage of your August and head on over and share at her page. Fun to see how others spent their month. Enjoy!!

  1. Sorry about the end of an era of fun at your lakeside home. It’s always sad saying farewell to a place that holds so many special memories, but I’m glad you had happy times with your lovely grandson to compensate. You’ve put together a lovely collage. Hope September is going really well, Bonny

    1. Hi Mona…finally I made it in time to post my collage. šŸ™‚ So far September has been very hot and humid…not the norm. Seems Summer is running behind this year, and I really wouldn’t mind if we skipped winter all together. What are your seasons like where you live? Do they coincide with ours? Must be so beautiful living where you do. Sad I’ve never really gotten to travel out of the US. šŸ™‚ Thanks for visiting.

  2. Sounds like a bittersweet month, my friend. As usual, by the end of the hot summer, I’m ready for a season change. Enjoyed your “weeds”! I gave up on my flower beds as well. The deer won this round, I’ll do something different next year! Have a blessed week!

    1. Thank you Inspired…we kept trying to think it would work to keep the place, but were finally convinced it was time. Love that you visited. šŸ™‚

  3. Ugh, the weather’s been so hot here we’ve been in hiding in the A/C. The boys just went out swimming and I took advantage of that to have some quiet time to myself. The ol’ man leaves for western ND tomorrow again for two weeks and the next time he’s off, we’ll be gone. I’m sorry you don’t get more time with your grandbabe. I’m sure you do miss him! Now watch how Sept. comes out.

    1. Hey sweet lady, we finally broke down and bought A/C this summer. The past two had been so hot, and with hubby’s breathing, he finally said yes. We’ve always liked the windows open, but with age, seems even I enjoy it, and actually, it makes the house better for cooking, etc. Thanks a bunch for visiting, and have a nice time when your guy gets back getting away. šŸ™‚

    1. How fun to see your visit Teresa. šŸ™‚ Thanks for the sorry. The month since we sold has been strange, but I’m getting use to it. I asked God and he answered, and even though it wasn’t exactly how I saw it, well you know how it goes. His time, his way….but gotta love that. šŸ˜‰

  4. Weeds? What weeds? All I see is a lovely Queen Anne’s Lace flower! šŸ™‚ But, I can relate to the weeds in the flower beds. Mine are a mess. The rock climbing party looks like tons of fun! Now, on to September and awesome Autumn colors!

    1. Hey Lady, nice to see you visiting. I’ve been learning about Queen Anne’s and her twin to see which I have. I think there is both at my place and the weed patch we live beside. The party gym was very nice for kids at any time to work off some energy. The daughter took him there a lot this summer. It was only $5 and well worth that price. Couldn’t believe it was so reasonable. True on the Autumn colors. šŸ™‚
