There is a path that leads down to this dam that the grandson and I have walked since he was a little fellow. He’s still little, but to him he’s pretty much grown up now and no longer a babykins. He turns 10 this week. haha

Grandbabykins loved climbing these stairs. They have since taken these away in the last year. It was a curiosity all along the highway different sets of stairs that passersby could stop and climb to overlook the dam area.
Grandbabykins would climb up them and then roll down the hill. But, now he’s going to be 10 and the stairs are gone, but we still walk the trail and this year added his puppy and my Razzy to the walk along the trail.

Today though, he heads back to school so the walks will be limited.

Black ‘n White Wednesday

I didn’t take the photo of my grandson opening his Christmas presents at Christmas one year (my son did), but I did take the photo of our Blue Spruce out in the front yard that I moved him onto. I thought it made a nice backdrop for contrast. I also applied the cracked glass texture from The Coffee Shop Blog. She is sharing it as a free texture.

Below is the photo without the cracked glass texture. Which do you like best?

Lazy Rain

A rainy Fall day in Ohio. Good day to be lazy. Didn’t stop the photo taking though of the rain and a leaf against the window.

The one below I changed to black and white to share with Black and White Wednesdays. It reflects also more the dreary mood of the day, but the rain was needed.

As Summer Fades

As I cut some flowers to bring in this morning, most of them look as if they’re drooping and ready to be done. With the cooler nights we had lately, I think they’ve mustered all the growing they can for this season. Even I have to say, they did as brave a growing season as they could since I really wasn’t into having a flower bed this Summer…these old bones just don’t bend like they use to and getting down and digging in the dirt and weeding is becoming more of a chore than I like. ~smiles~

Another Bachelor

Sharing with Texture Tuesday and Texture Twist. Layered with kk_flow then moved the picture onto Earl’s watercolor texture/background with a bevel frame. Applied kk_canvasbackmagic with saturation which turned it to black and white and then I colored the bachelor button flower back in. Make A Wish ~ Poof

Remember as kids when the Dandelions’ yellow turned to these Puff-Balls as we called them, and we’d make a wish and Poof ~ blow them off in the wind?

And of course remember the jokes kids loved to tell- “What’s black and white and red all over?” (the newspaper..hahahahaha) The grandson recently bought a book of jokes and was having so much fun reading some of them to me. It brought back memories of the easy life and fun of a kid again and all the space out in front to look forward. I’d forgotten most of those kid’s jokes.
