Ruby Red ‘n Extraction Tutorial

Red flower may 2017 as object png

This graphic is taken from one of my flowers that I planted this Spring. Using this photo:

100_3073 with logo

and the extraction tool, I removed the flower and made it a .png file. Then I used the filters to adjust the flower more to my liking. I then opened a background texture and dragged the extracted flower onto the texture arranging it how I liked.

2017-05-24

Hopefully you can see in the photo above, the extraction tool causes marching ants to be around the part that I want extracted (I call them marching ants..not sure correct term :)). Once you have those, you can right-click and select invert and do the drop down box to new document and then you will have this as a .png. This can then be dragged to any texture, background or wherever you want.

Once I had it dragged to my background texture (one that I found at Kristy’s Life in Reflection), I then used some brushes to add to the background texture.

Hope you enjoyed my Ruby Red Flower extraction tutorial. Would love to hear from you. Have a great rest of the week.

I was so glad to see this Monarch Butterfly stopping for some livelihood. Monarchs have been scarce around here lately so was fun to see their return, and I’ll hate to see them go when the winter months arrive.

Sharing one of my painted textures. I used this one behind the butterfly picture above. You can download it HERE without my logo. I hope you enjoy using it.

Would love to see how you use it in one of your photos by linking up with Pictorial Friday.

Note: the ribbon on my framed photo is from French Kiss Collections. She makes lovely textures and other items. If you subscribe, she does have some freebies.

Our son and daughter-in-law took us out on their boat for a ride on a beautiful, fall-like day. The air was warm, and just breezy enough. So naturally, I had to take along my camera.

The leaves are just beginning to turn so got couple shots of the trees around the reservoir.

Then they treated me and hubby to lunch. Best kind of day when can spend it with the kids. 🙂

The photos, the only touch up that I did was to enhance them some in the Adobe Photoshop program. I use Elements 12.
Look forward to your sharing of some of the fun photography you took this week or just whenever. Always fun to see what others are shooting.

lavendar-flower-freebie-4-you-buttonMy Fall Leaf Frame…

leaf-frame-clipping-mask
Sharing a Leaf Clipping Mask that you add a picture too and use as is or add to a photo or however you choose. I created it in Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 from a photo of a leaf, but should be able to use in other versions of Adobe and hopefully other programs.

The download is HERE

Just add your photo and then drag it below the leaf frame layer and it should automatically be displayed under the leaf cutout. Enjoy, and I would love to have you share in comments or on your linkup how you used this, but if not, that’s okay too. You can use however you like, credit given would be nice, but not necessary.

Below is example of how I used the leaf:

Most already know how to do a clipping mask, but thought I’d share below an example for those that are new to clipping masks.

Just Breathe

John 15 15 16

Happy Friday, and Just Breathe and have an Enjoyable week-end.

20160224_210226

Ye have not Chosen me, but I have Chosen you.

I Am Chosen
I Am Forgiven
I Am Created in God’s Image ~
to me that statement means not physical attributes, but created in his Image.
And the Image that I perceive of God is not nationality, or whether he has long hair, short hair, tall/thin, blonde, brunette.
Actually, I perceive him as a non-distinct Spirit that surrounds with loving kindness…and one who loves and only wants the best for his children

Others may see him differently, but no matter how you perceive God, just know that you are Chosen and you are Loved. And the only requirement that was left with us was to

Love One Another as I have Loved you’

And what wisdom that is because LOVE covers all ills.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great week-end,

Cmas Razzy 2015

Sometimes, just sometimes, Razzy cooperates. I asked him to sit in front of the tree so that I could try a technique that Jill Wellington  (you will find some awesome photo tips that this photographer shares on her site and newsletter) mentioned in her newsletter about Kevin and Amanda’s blog on how to make the lights on the tree look like snowflakes, hearts or whatever you choose. Well, as you can see, I didn’t achieve it, but kind of like how the home made filter captured the picture. You can find the technique HERE on their page.

The sparkles were made using a star brush that Jill shared.

Razzy sat as long as I wanted him to until I told him he could go. Sometimes, just sometimes, he listens…but then other times, he’s the boss with a mind of his own.

The Coffee Shop Blog has this free Santa hat give away on her site and I thought would be fun to put Razzy under it in this photo using her Santa hat. I left it big but can be resized. 😄

Flower Basket Manipulation

Flower 11

I drew this.

Then I took a photo of this.

Flower in a basket

Then I put the flower drawing into the basket using Adobe Photoshop; added some scrapbooking elements from kits I either purchased or got free online, tweaked the hue/saturation so the flower blended to the background color, and ended up with this:

Flower in a basket scrabook page

Then I used a script brush that I found on a site call French Kiss Textures (if you sign up for her site, she does offer some great freebies as well as kits for sale and tutorials) to add the script and I also used one of her backgrounds from French Kiss.

Thanks for stopping by.

Have a Blessed Thanksgiving
