From Little Hands

My grandson who I call grandbabykins (he’s now eight so soon I may have to abandon that, but I really think he likes it). Anyway, since he came to our house with his parents as a newborn, and was here over the years, he has one of my bedrooms that he still claims as his own even though he no longer lives here. There, he keeps a desk, crayons, markers, papers that he borrows from my printer among other things. Last week when school was out, I had him for the day. He decided to cover a box with printer paper and decorate it. I think drawings that little ones make are so cute so I decided to turn one into a Christmas card to say:

Merry Christmas from Tyson cmas tree draw for TT

As the Birthday of Jesus is quickly approaching, hope everyone enjoys their holidays with family and/or friends and have a Blessed 2015. Seems unreal that this year is almost over already..seems it just started a few months ago.

It is my calling to treat every human being with grace and dignity, to treat every person, whether encountered in a palace or a gas station as a life made in the image of God.

My Zinnia seedlings finally bloomed. Been trying my hand at drying flowers again. I use to all the time, and since I’m doing the Postcrossing, I thought a dried flower would be a nice addition to any postcard sent. However, this Summer my garden is kind of sparse ~ more full of weeds than blooms it seems. Summer gets ahead of me and by August, I admit I get a lot lazy about pulling weeds.

Below are some Bachelor Buttons and couple Zinnia that I’ve dried already.

Thanks for visiting. Comments are always fun to read so drop one off before you leave if you have time. Also, if you have a technique for drying flowers that you want to share, I’d love to hear about it. Thanks…:)

Bachelor Button Transformation

Bachelor Button Oil Pastel

Bachelor Buttons for Texture Tuesday. Applied Kim’s Pinit9 and then used a layer mask to paint the flowers back in and then applied the Pinit9 again.

I’ve received my first postcards since joining Postcrossing. So far I’ve sent out 11 postcards and received 4 with more on the way to me. I’m one to still enjoy receiving mail, and so far looks like a fun idea. So far I’ve received a card from Israel, United Kingdom, Brussels, Spokane, and Mother Hen’s from Oregon.

Plus this wonderful card from the lady (Mother Hen) whose blog I found and she told me about Postcrossing. See her card below. Thanks Mother Hen for the tip and the beautiful card from your state.

No rest for the weary

I have a blister, knees are sore but the porch is STAINED. Bout time after a few years of weathering. Sometimes Summer is tiring because the weather allows to get those jobs done that can’t be in the winter time. Fall will be house paint trimming and garage painting. Bah!! I’m tired already.

Plus, I bought a drill bit and learned how to cut a hole in a glass bottle to insert those little mini lights. Yet to insert the mini lights, but here is picture of the hole. hahaha

Have a great week and stay cool. Weather here has been very hot and humid this week, but going back down by the week-end in Ohio to cooler weather.
