Stop back tomorrow and join the Pictorial Friday blog hop.
March starts the book of St. Mark. Today was Chapter 4 in my reading through the Bible.
The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God; As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare they way before thee. Mark 1:1-2
The book of St. Mark begins with John The Baptist (son of Zacharias and Elizabeth – cousin of Mary) baptizing Jesus.
And there came a voice from heaven, saying. Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.St (Mark 1:11)
And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? Mark 4:39-40 KJV

My word for 2015. It was the first time ever that I’d picked a word to concentrate on for the year. I felt that I’d lost some of the Joy of every day life. I’m not sure if people have always picked a word for the year, but it was new and a first to me.
My Word: Joy ~ it can be found in small and large ways. The large Joy in my life continues to be the gift of children. My prayer was always that they’d be safe, they’d grow to be strong, confident and capable people. They have. The next large Joy has been the blessing of grandbabies.
The small Joys can be found in everyday life. A call from an adult child just because they want to talk to mom. A puppy that thinks he runs the show, but loves to snuggle when you need it. A husband that can make me laugh, and has a way of making me always remember the reasons I love him (even if he doesn’t realize he’s doing it.)
The Joy of a sunshiny day when your heart just feels right with the world. A grandchild that climbs up in the rocker with me even though we’ve kind of just met. She trusts because her daddy told her we’re visiting grandma/grandpa. An adult son who gives one of the best gifts a mom could receive. A son who lives in another state miles away who unselfishly gives the time out of his life to come stay and help an ailing father, and brings his daughter so she can get to know us better.
These are just some of the Joys that I documented in my thankful journal for 2015.
JOY is everywhere if you just notice.
My word picked for 2016: RENEW
Create in my a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Psa. 51:10 KJV
Thank you for all who gave a like or a comment or just visited my pages during 2015.
Happy New Year and wishing all a Wonderful and Blessed 2016.
Week three of the Advent theme with the group I’m following is JOY. As a child we have so much JOY when we anticipate Christmas. The belief that Santa will bring us delightful surprises. Same with our Faith. Jesus is a wonderful gift who will and always brings us delightful surprises as we travel through this earthly life. One surprise was the way he arrived (a babe born in a stable), and another unknown surprise at his birth was that he was sent to make a sacrifice that would give us unconditional forgiveness. All he asks is Love One Another.
God is peace, and if you let him, he will work in us a comfort and peace beyond understanding. Stay faithful and blameless awaiting the return of Jesus. Live in Love and Peace and enjoy the JOY that life brings.
Lord of Peace
God of Peace

My journal page for Day 3 ~ HOPE-God with us-“EMMANUEL”
Come and worship, worship Christ the newborn King…God is with us.
Happy first day of December. This is basically my first year of delving into Advent.
I’ve been reading and journaling my way through the Bible so doing Advent this year is much more meaningful. I’ve heard, read, known excerpts from the Bible, but never read or understood some of the scriptures. Still don’t on some, but it is a learning curve. There are many miss-communications about the Bible until you actually read it in it’s entirety.
So, Blessings as we head toward that fun time of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and family. ~oh, and presents too~ 🙂 We already received the best present of all with the birth of Jesus, but I’m sure he won’t mind if there are presents under the tree for you and for me. 🙂
~hugs ‘n blessings ‘n giggles~
Sharing over at His Kingdom Come and you’re welcome to come join us in our study through Advent even if you don’t journal it. Just visit and enjoy the beautiful paintings and postings everyone shares.
