While camping, I decided to take a morning stroll at the campgrounds that is beside our little place at the Lake. It’s a three mile walk around a Nature trail. Since I was by myself, decided best to not really go too far in since I wasn’t sure what I’d find in the brush. Maybe if someone will go with me, I’ll go back. hahaha ~ I’m such a chicken if I’d see a snake ~ Anyway, sharing this one I took that morning (I added the butterfly brush). It is textured with Kim’s rainy day to share with Texture Tuesday.
More pictures below:
An overgrown bridge that use to be a look out at the Swamp (didn’t venture onto it)
Maybe use to be kept up, but was all overgrown but could really hear lots of frogs
A bee was very busy working on this cone flower….love cone flowers. Need to plant some.
Opening to the path that I decided not to enter…looked too weedy like not kept up or no visitors had been trodding down the path when I peeked in.
This one I played with making an Ani-Gif via instructions on The Coffee Shop Blog’s site. See, if Razzy’s running out, I’m not going in. hahaha just being silly
Hope you enjoyed. Glad you stopped for a browse. 🙂
Remember as kids when the Dandelions’ yellow turned to these Puff-Balls as we called them, and we’d make a wish and Poof ~ blow them off in the wind?
And of course remember the jokes kids loved to tell- “What’s black and white and red all over?” (the newspaper..hahahahaha) The grandson recently bought a book of jokes and was having so much fun reading some of them to me. It brought back memories of the easy life and fun of a kid again and all the space out in front to look forward. I’d forgotten most of those kid’s jokes.
My original photo before it was textured with Kim’s kk_stamped softly
Sharing my Puff-Ball for Black and White Texture Tuesday and over at Floral Love.
In March my wonderful daughter surprised me with a phone call asking if I would want to fly to California with her to visit her brother (my son) who moved there last Summer (she was paying). It was her son’s Spring break from grade school, and she had a week’s vacation. Neither of us had ever flown, and I was apprehensive before giving an answer because I’ve always swore I would never, ever fly on a plane. When young, I wasn’t afraid of heights, but over the years had become moreso. She was surprised when I said right away that I would go. She said she thought I would say no because of my fear of flying. I will admit the weeks leading up to the date we were to fly out, I was wondering what in the world am I doing. Will I have a panic attack? Will I not want to fly back home and then have to rent a car or something? Will I just have to call the hubby and tell him I cannot fly back so I’m staying indefinitely? 🙂
Reasons I said yes.
I knew that since it was her first time flying that as a mom there was no way I was letting her go alone even though she is 30 years old, and the grandson is 7. I would have worried too much about it. That was mainly my reason for saying yes.
My son’s daughter is the newest grand-daughter of just over one years old, and I hadn’t seen her since she was only a few months old.
After the frigid cold winter we’d just been through and having cabin fever, I was ready to go anywhere even if it meant taking a plane.
So, off we flew. It was thee most amazing thing, and I swore I’d never look out a plane window, but I did and it was awesome. And, hubby had to put up with me because I did make the flight back home.
California is beautiful and if I were younger, I think I would have no problem moving there. The little fellow in my photo was so obliging when my son took us to visit a Lighthouse. He just sat there as if posing for the few pictures that I took of him.
Sharing with Texture Tuesday and is textured with Kim’s kk_0603.

Playing with taking a photo and adding texture to make it photo art to share with Pixel Dust Photo Art for February (theme is to be geometric angles so not sure this is but only angles in a picture that I have at the moment). Thought I’d also share with this week’s Texture Tuesday.
I applied the Old World Charm texture from Pixel Dust and then using my brush, brushed back in the trees and shadows. After I had it like I wanted, I then applied Kim’s kk_2003.
Give a visit to Texture Tuesday and enjoy all that other photographers have shared for this week.
This was the first puppy (a Scottie Terrier) when our son was five. The puppy arrived on January 3rd of that year, and his baby brother arrived the next day (another story) for my writing at http://peabeascribbles.wordpress.com. The puppy was named Smokey. The son in this picture is now 48 as of New Years Eve, and the puppy lived to be 14 years. I titled it ‘Love times two’ because naturally the son was so loved and the puppy stole all our hearts.
