Winter and the chilly weather is finally here. We have been lucky the last few winters with pretty mild weather. So far though, this year; different story. Love though when you wake and the master painter has done his beauty. We had rain, sleet, snow mix and it left my trees so pretty. However though:
As we say ‘Goodbye’ to January, I’m sharing my January Collage with Mona’s Picturesque monthly link up. January pretty much has been nothing but snow and cold so far, but we’ve been really lucky with not a lot of accumulation. We’ve pretty much just hibernated and not doing much except plowing and shoveling snow. The granbabykins even likes to help shovel when he’s here. As for me, I pretty much leave that job up to the guys. 🙂
The weather has drifted back and forth so we have had thaws in between. This week-end they are calling for a record snowfall for our area so far this season, but I’m hoping it doesn’t materialize like they’re saying. If it does, we’ll be pretty much just staying in and watching the Super Bowl.
I’m ready for Spring already and it’s only the end of January. bleh!!!
Pop over and visit Mona’s site. She’s an awesome photographer and shares some of her wonderful photos on her site. You won’t be disappointed with your visit. She has a monthly link up called a Month In Photos (the end of each month). Check out what others have been doing in the month of January.
Thanks for visiting, and I’d love to hear how your winter season is going so far or whatever season you might be experiencing right now.
Applied the Sunkissed action from The Coffee Shop Blog, then Gallery Wrap from Studio Zap which is free and you can find it HERE. (Fun action to play with for sure.) Then I applied Kim’s kk_play texture for the background at 100%.
The adventures and imagination of a child are fun to watch when they go out to play in the winter. No toys are needed. Just piling the snow from here to there or working on a small snowman, and the giggles begin.
This cute ornament I found on The Graphic Fairy’s site. She shares so many cute freebies. I didn’t use the wooden circles to make mine, I just used cardstock because I’ll probably use them on gift packages, but I may make some more permanent later on.
The background that I used on my photo above is compliments ofThe Coffee Shop Blog. She has some great freebies of packages of Christmas backgrounds.
Below another ornament using white paper. The sheet music is also a freebie that can be found at The Graphics Fairy and printed off on your home printer.
Another quick craft I made is my own creation. When I head out to shop or to the gym, sometimes I grab a soft drink or water. Now that winter is here, the can is cold on the fingers so I decided to make a can cozy for myself. See below:
Ran the Portrait Express action from The Coffee Shop Blog and then applied the kk_1111 unscripted from Kim Klassen. Sharing with
As we head into the Holiday Season of Thanksgiving, it’s always a time for remembering all our thankfulness.
Give thanks to the Lord,
Call on his name;
Make known among the nations what he has done.
1 Chronicles 16:8
Or perhaps a cup of Tea on a Winter’s Morn.
As you can see, I’m already missing my summertime flowers so guess the fake ones will have to do until Springtime rolls around again. 🙂
What I’m up to:
During this month of November, I’m doing a Bible Study of Thanksgiving that is online with GoodMorningGirls.org. It just started on November 11th so there’s still time to grab their study materials and join in.
I’m also working on getting together to share a Peabea’s Photography and Craft Patch Potpourri Photography Challenge meme. I enjoy visiting and sharing with other Photography meme’s each week so thought I’d start one as well. But more on that later. 🙂
Just finished reading The Book Thief. My book reviews that need updated are on my writing site at peabea.net
Some freebies I’ve encountered along the way as I peruse the web and fun sites to check out that you might like.
